This is the way I hope to receive most of my inventory. Stacking like this and painting the ends aids the drying process. Wood that is moist tends to warp and crack. Even when you do everything you can think of to prevent problems, they still can occur.
What specifically am I looking for?
I am looking for high quality slabs that are clear of a lot of defects. I want slabs that are 8 feet long or less, 2-4 inches thick and as wide as I can get them. Matchbook slabs, those next to each other in the log, can be joined to form a wider table. The last of my projects below is an example.
